Esteban “Steve” Estrada was a member of the Mayans Motorcycle Club, Santo Padre charter on Mayans MC, a spinoff of the FX original series Sons of Anarchy. Played by Mexican actor and comedian, Momo Rodriguez. Steve makes his debut in the season three premiere, "Pap Struggles with the Death Angel"; playing a recurring role throughout the season.

Personality[]

Steve was a good natured man with rather strange habits such as piling up several glasses on reverse, believing they wouldn't clean properly otherwise. Steve was notoriously clumsy and often tripped and caused minor annoyances to the rest of the club and often at times didn't think many things through, being more of a slow thinker and was often being reprimanded by others, particularly Hank; although generally meaning well, to make Steve improve.

Steve held an inferiority complex, and had a history of being looked down upon, likely a mix of his normally quiet personality and possibly over his physique as well. He had decided to become a member of the Mayans mostly as a means to gain more respect and build more confidence on himself as he greatly respected the outlaws. His dedication was apparently real enough as the patched members actually thought fondly of Steve despite his mistakes, and he did prove an asset when truly necessary. Despite his own perceived failings, the Santo Padre Charter was pleased enough by his service that he was officially patched only a mere 4 months in, much shorter than the typical 1 year run, and as a result of changing, more turbulent times for the charter, implying he was trusted enough to be able to stand as a fellow brother.

Steve was ultimately, not fit for outlaw life as he had initially believed. Following the tumultuous, incredibly violent civil war fight with the Stockton charter in which he was ganged up by several Stockton Mayans and killed one of them in self-defence, Steve developed a great deal of guilt over committing murder and potentially leaving a broken family and friends mourning his loss. Although being told by an angry EZ to "lock it away", he was unable to cope with what he had done and committed suicide.

Steve begins to walk to the motel with the others but Hank stops him, telling him that he needs to watch the van as it is likely to get stolen in Stockton. He also tells him that he is fat and he should do burpees, he wants him 15lb lighter by the time he gets back. EZ catches up with Steve after, sensing he is struggling with his Prospect journey. EZ gives him some advice and Steve assures him that he wants to be a Mayan someday and isn't giving up.

Steve is later hanging with Creeper when Angel Reyes arrives, Steve explains to Angel that unlike him, he is allowed to carry guns because he has a clean criminal record. Creeper teaches Steve some gun etiquette.

Disaster strikes after Diaz turns on Santo Padre and Tucson and Stockton and Yuma arrive, an all out brawl erupts and Steve is knocked to the ground where he is kicked and badly beaten by the attacking Mayans. As Steve's ruthless beating continues, he is able to grab hold of his gun and accidentally shoots it, hitting Gaeta, a Stockton Mayan in the chest. Steve gets to his feet as the cops arrive and the attackers disperse. Steve is horrified to realize that he has killed Gaeta, Hank drags him away and he gets on the back of Hank's bike as they all ride away.

"The House of Death Floats By"[]

Hank hurls some more abuse at Steve and he meekly apologizes before heading outside to do his duty. Steve sees EZ arrive and wants some advice from him, EZ brushes him off, telling him he is late. He rethinks and turns around to talk to Steve. Steve finally has the chance to speak to someone at the club who understands him. He tries to talk to EZ about the Gaeta situation, explaining that he can't stop thinking about what he has done. EZ savagely tells Steve that this is what he signed up for and he needs to lock away any feeling of doubt and "this" is who we are. He rushes inside the clubhouse.

Steve is assisting with the party celebrating the return of Creeper after he was arrested at the motel a few days prior. Hank tells Steve to take off his kutte as the music stops. Steve isn't sure if Hank is being serious but quickly realizes he is, he removed it and lays it on the table. Bishop begins to address the club, explaining that Johnny "Coco" Cruz has been excommunicated from the club due to his poor work ethic. They also voted on Steve, even though he has only been a Prospect for 4 months, the club feel they have seen all they need to, he has been voted in as a Mayan. The club all cheer and congratulate Steve, but he doesn't appear to be very happy.

Steve later dons his kutte, adorned with all the patches and sits at a table with the others, they are celebrating but he seems lost in the moment. Bishop tells as story but he isn't listening, he can't stop thinking about the acts he has committed whilst being part of the club. Steve takes out his revolver and addresses EZ, telling him, "I'm sorry EZ, I don't think I can put it away..." before placing the barrel in his mouth and pulling the trigger.
