Governor Sederica Palmomo, also known as 'El Santo' or 'The Saint' is a Mexican Governor on Mayans MC, a spinoff of the FX original series Sons of Anarchy. Played by Argentinian actress Mía Maestro, Palomo makes her debut on the season two episode, "Camazotz", and plays a recurring role throughout the same and following season.
Biography[]
Sederica Palomo is an ambitious young woman looking to advance herself in the political world in Mexico, she was born and raised in Santa Madre, Mexico. Palomo is a cunning politician, using the sorrow of those around her to gain favour for herself. Palomo is an excellent speaker and was regularly seen giving rousing speeches to her constituents. Palomo promised to rid Mexico of criminal organisations, specifically the Galindo Cartel. Hidden behind her politician façade is a selfish woman, only looking out for herself and using the misery and plight of those around her to her own advantage.
Palomo engaged in an affair with Miguel Galindo, leader of the Galindo Cartel and her supposed sworn enemy. She was also aware that Miguel was married, but this mattered not to her.
She also secretly teamed up with Los Olvidados and their leader Adelita, the rebel organisation in Mexico. Just like her they also recruited the hopeless and attempted to find them a purpose in life. She used Los Olvidados to continue to gain favour and cut them off once they had served all purpose to her, a mistake that would end up costing her her life.
Season 2[]
"Xbalanque"[]
Palomo can be seen meeting with Luisa "Adelita" Espina, leader of the Mexican rebel group Los Olvidados. Palomo has pledged to assist Adelita in her fight against the cartel world as their two views align closely. Palomo also knows it will look great for her political numbers.
"Camazotz"[]
Palomo gives a rousing speech on a small farming town in Mexico, the crowd is very supportive.
"Xquic"[]
At some point, Palomo meets and becomes acquainted with Miguel Galindo, leader of the Galindo Cartel. She then learns that just like her, Miguel has also been working with Adelita and Los Olvidados. Aware that Adelita has been captured by the authorities, they want to free her.
They believe they can help each other advance in the world. Palomo secretly crosses the border to the US and meets with Marcus Alvarez, a member of the cartel and the Mayans Motorcycle Club, Santo Padre charter, an ally of the cartel. All of them are affiliated in some way and want to save Adelita.
"Kukulkan"[]
Alvarez and Miguel head out to meet Palomo once again. Palomo has delivered some intel on Potter. Some time ago Miguel innocently asked Potter if he had any family and Potter couldn't help but ramble on about a woman he met years ago, using this information Miguel was able to pass it to Palomo and she has tracked down the woman Potter spoke of, he finally has some leverage against him. Miguel is also shocked to learn that Potter also had a son with this woman. Palomo is worried that Miguel will hurt the innocent woman and her child but Miguel denies this, saying it is just "potential leverage" to assist in freeing Adelita, after their previous attempt failed.
Season 3[]
"Pap Struggles with the Death Angel"[]
Palomo opens the door to her hotel room and finds Miguel outside, she was expecting him and the pair greet each other with a kiss. They had previously begun an adulterous relationship.
"The Orneriness of Kings"[]
Miguel and Palomo awaken together. They discuss Palmomo's political campaign and how she is failing in Santo Padre. Palomo claims she’s working on obliterating crime and ending the Galindo cartel, but Miguel’s presence in her bed says otherwise. Palomo also discusses the Lobos New Generation, a reborn cartel that is trying to overthrow the Galindo cartel. Miguel expresses little care for this cartel, stating they were formerly knows as Lobos Sonora and his father had wiped them out many years ago; this new cartel are just wannabes.
"Our Gang's Dark Oath"[]
Palomo is horrified to find that three of her staff have been murdered by the LNG on supposed Galindo territory. Miguel returns to Mexico and meets with Palomo, she is in quite a state as she tells Miguel that three of her staffers were murdered by the Lobos New Generation. Palomo is angry at Miguel, as he said he would keep everything in order. The Miguel she first met had balls and would never have let this happen. Miguel then implies that Palomo is a cartel affiliate and bought about those deaths herself. Palomo leaves angrily.
"You Can't Pray a Lie"[]
Palomo is accosted by Miguel in the middle of a meeting. He takes her aside and accuses her of making a deal with the LNG to which she denies. She sarcastically tells him that it is "collateral of what we do". Mirroring exactly what Miguel told her when she found out her staff had been killed. Miguel whispers some threats in her ear before she loudly explains that Miguel is a criminal as he leaves with a smug look on his face.
"The House of Death Floats By"[]
Palomo gives another rousing speech in a hospital. Her spiel is interrupted when a young girl armed with a knife launches herself at Palomo but is quickly restrained, a security team rush Palomo in to the bathroom where she begins to phone for help as her guard clears all of the toilet stalls, he makes it through half of them before being shot in the head upon kicking open another one. Adelita and a masked girl emerge from the stall and Adelita chastises Palomo and the Galindo cartel for abandoning the cause and using the situation for her own political advantage. Palmono continues to plead, Adelita remarks that she isn't Adelita; the young girl removes her mask and states "I'm Adelita" before stabbing Palomo numerous times, killing her.
