Rita Anne Roosevelt (née Jones) was the wife of Eli Roosevelt on the FX original series Sons of Anarchy. Played by Japanese actress Merle Dandridge, Rita makes her debut on the episode "Dorylus" in the series' fourth season. Playing a recurring role through the series' fourth and fifth seasons, Rita owned a florist shop in Charming, California, was on the committee to cancel the plans to build Charming Heights, and met her demise in the Season 5 episode "Small World".

Season 4[]

Previously it is shown that Rita became acquaintances with Gemma Morrow when Gemma enters her shop, she asks about a certain flower that Gemma owns, asking some facts about the plant. While talking, Gemma asks Rita if she knows who she is, Rita says yes, and Rita answers with, "I guess that means you know who I am". While they talk, Lincoln Potter is looking at some flowers, as he listens to Rita and Gemma's conversation.

Season 5[]

In Season 5, she is seen pregnant and kissing her husband, also with her husband kissing her stomach, before going home while at Eli's office in the police station.

A few episodes later, Rita is at home, reading a book. Rita hears a noise, grabs a gun from the drawer and threatens the intruders, yelling she has a gun, and has just called 911. As Rita approaches the door, three intruders burst through the door, Rita fires a shot of her gun, missing but hitting the wall. In the struggle, Rita scratches one of the intruders, then accidentally shoots herself in the stomach. The intruders rush out of the home in a hurry, to risk being caught.

Rita is next seen in the hospital, where she dies due to her injuries. With her death, her unborn baby also dies, infuriating Eli and causing him to work with SAMCRO to find Rita's killers.
