- ―Isaac about Meth Mountain
Meth Mountain is a community located near the outskirts of Santo Padre, Southern California. Found on Mayans MC, a spinoff of the FX original series Sons of Anarchy, Meth Mountain is home to a variety of drug abusers and various crazies. It is somewhat of a local attraction as people have been known to travel to visit and stay there.
Meth Mountain is infamous for it's rampant drug abuse. A tight knit community full of societal outcasts; Meth Mountain is a safe-haven for those who are shunned by regular society. There are no rules at Meth Mountain and few permanent residents. Those who choose to reside there tend to live in trailers and makeshift huts. The camp itself is surrounded by poorly constructed fences made of a variety of materials, presumably to keep various mountain wildlife at bay and any inquisitive travellers. The camp is powered with solar energy; near the middle of the camp numerous solar panels can be found. At the front gate to meth mountain a large graffitied sign reads, "The Freest Place on Earth".
Due to its notoriety; it can be assumed that law enforcement are aware of the location and narcotic connections. However, due to the residents mostly keeping to themselves they see no reason to intervene. The location also appears to be a tourist attraction for certain types of people. In "Death of the Virgin"; Hope meets a group of punks and one of them explains they have travelled from Portland to visit Meth Mountain.
Meth Mountain supposedly has no leader, when Johnny "Coco" Cruz first visits the location to attempt to rob it, he meets Isaac Packer, Coco asks Isaac if he is the leader, but Isaac insists the mountain has no leader and everyone is free. He also states that the idea of implying that there is some sort of hierarchy in the place will get him killed. Isaac and Butterfly, the dealer for Meth Mountain certainly appear to have some sort of hold over the rest of the residents however, due to being their only drug supply.
It is unknown how or why Meth Mountain exists but there appears to be some sort of financial benefit. We know that the Dogwood Crew sends drugs up to the mountain which are then distributed to the residents. Louie, from Dogwood appears to imply that there is good reason for keeping the residents of Meth Mountain happy. Presumably to stop them from leaving the camp and travelling down to Santo Padre.
During the finale of season three where the camp is physically seen for the last time. Gilberto "Gilly" Lopez assaults the camp in an attempt to save Coco who is being held captive by Isaac. Whilst there, he sets fire to numerous trailers and buildings which is where the majority of the camp's drug supply is stored. It can be assumed that the absence of drugs crippled Meth Mountain for a while.

Trivia[]
- Meth Mountain bears striking resemblance to "Slab City". A real life location in California in the Sonoran Desert. The slogan of Slab City is "The last free place". It is also popular with drug abusers and those who don't want to conform to normal society.
