Luis was Miguel Galindo's bodyguard on Mayans MC, a spinoff of the FX original series Sons of Anarchy. Played by American actor Michael Anthony Perez. Luis makes his debut in the season two episode "Muluc" and plays a recurring role throughout the same and subsequent seasons.
Biography[]
Luis was originally a high ranking member of the Galindo Cartel and associate of Miguel Galindo the previous leader. Luis was a ruthless henchman and loyally followed the cartel and put his life on the line every day to serve them. Luis states that he has "been with Mr. Galindo a long time", always addressing him as such, and that the Galindo family is very important to him. It is clear he treats them as if they were his own.
Despite being loyal to Miguel, he also knows not to cross his wife, as he allows Emily Galindo to escape during the events of "Chapter the Last, Nothing More to Write" and brings back a message for Miguel after he was supposed to bring her home.
After Miguel flees to Mexico, as he is exposed for being a cartel boss, Luis continues to work silently under him and he is finally called upon again when Miguel is ready to return to the US. By this point, Luis is the only ally Miguel has from the cartel world.
Miguel is eventually recruited by Soledad, the leader of the Lobos New Generation Cartel, Luis joins his old boss, and links up with the cartel also, to serve as an enforcer. He still however spends most of his time serving Miguel and his family.
Season 2[]
"Muluc"[]
The Galindo enforcers and Miguel Galindo regroup with the Mayans Motorcycle Club, Santo Padre charter and make a plan to save Marcus Alvarez, having learned he has been kidnapped. Nestor Oceteva soon limps in, badly wounded and Miguel yells for Emily Galindo to be taken away, Paco calmly escorts Emily out of the room. He later rejoins the group as they figure out where Alvarez is being held and make plans to assault the farmhouse and rescue him. They are later able to storm the warehouse and kill all of the attackers inside, it is revealed that Hobart and his crew of mercenaries had been responsible for the kidnapping, a badly injured Alvarez is allowed to deal the finishing blow and beats Hobart to death with a wrench.
Season 3[]
"Overreaching Don't Pay"[]
Luis is at Alvarez' house awaiting to drive him for the day. Some Mayans arrive, Obispo "Bishop" Losa and Ezekiel "EZ" Reyes. Luis watches the Mayans and Alvarez talk before Alvarez sends EZ over to "keep Luis company" whilst he talks to Bishop. Luis stares EZ down as he comes and stands next to him, EZ inquisitively asks Luis what he is staring at and Luis replies with "how much you bench?".
"You Can't Pray a Lie"[]
Alvarez wants to damage control after EZ is attacked by another Mayan, Flaco. Seeing as he is the founder of the Mayans and doesn't want events to spiral out of control. He sends Nestor and Luis to guard the injured Mayan. Whilst at the hospital, Angel Reyes, EZ's brother approaches Nestor and Luis and demands to know what he's doing; Nestor says he's been sent to guard by Alvarez, other Mayans hold Angel back and escort him from the hospital as he is clearly ready for a fight with Nestor.
After Flaco is released from the hospital, Luis and Nestor tail him, they watch on as two Santo Padre Mayans roll up on the car and gun down Flaco and Chepe. Luis questions what they should do and Nestor tells him "tonight? Nothing."
"Chapter the Last, Nothing More to Write"[]
Luis is guarding Emily as she eats at a restaurant with her son. A frantic Miguel soon calls Luis, and orders him to pass the phone to Emily. After getting off the phone with Miguel, Emily tells Luis they need to leave immediately and the group head out.
Offscreen, Emily gives Luis her wedding ring and a handful of pills, telling Luis to deliver them to Miguel, she will not be joining him. Luis bravely decides to follow Emily's orders and returns to Miguel, who is ready to board a helicopter, he informs Miguel that Emily tasked him with giving the items to him. Miguel says nothing, but looks solemn. He silently boards the helicopter and is flown away, Luis watches him leave from the ground below, not knowing if he will ever see his boss again.
Season 4[]
"When I Die, I Want Your Hands on My Eyes"[]
Luis is finally called upon again by Miguel who has been lying low from authorities for many months now. Luis drives to Mexico where he knows Miguel is hiding at a nun's convent. Miguel exits and Luis hands him a small amount of money before the pair drive off.
"Dialogue with the Mirror"[]
Miguel and Luis make their way back to the US. Luis stops driving as their is a car parked in the middle of the road, he wakes Miguel up and he insists on checking on the driver, who appears to be a passed out woman. As they get closer the car explodes, they rush back to the car and Luis floors it in reverse as a woman on a motorbike speeds towards them, Luis fires off some shots and she retreats, the pair are suddenly rear ended.
"The Calling of Saint Matthew"[]
Miguel feeling revitalised with his new power after partnering up with Soledad, the soon to be leader of Miguel's former rival cartel, the Lobos New Generation cartel. seemingly later wants to claim back what was his. We learn that offscreen he has made plans with Luis to track down Emily and Cristobal. Luis is successful and tracks down Erin Thomas, Emily's sister with whom Cristobal is staying, Luis seemingly executes a terrified Erin, steals her phone, and retrieves Cristobal before returning him to Miguel.
Season 5[]
"I Hear the Train A-Comin"[]
Santo Padre head to the meeting with Soledad and Miguel, in an attempt at peace after the entire heroin stash was burned by an unknown assailant. Soledad is incredibly unimpressed by EZ's attempt at reconciliation, seeing as her men are already armed to the teeth with the latest military grade weaponry. Soledad and her enforcers leave. EZ addresses Miguel, who is furious that the club has embarrassed him after he told Soledad to hear them out. EZ demands to know who the cartel's new heroin supplier is but Miguel refuses to tell him.
"Do You Hear the Rain"[]
Emily is shopping with Cristobal, Luis and Maria. Luis is sent to go and look for the right type of paper towel, he eventually returns, having bought the wrong one. Maria tells Luis to stay with Emily and Cristobal and she will find what Emily is looking for.

"My Eyes Filled and Then Closed on the Last of Childhood Tears"[]
Luis enters Emily's bedroom and sees that she is still in bed. Emily asks him to leave but Luis tells her that Miguel has ordered him that Emily must leave the house today. Luis refuses to leave and Emily screams.
Luis teaches Emily to shoot, he remarks that shooting relaxes him. Emily retorts and asks him if killing people makes him feel good. Luis refutes this, claiming he doesn't like that, he just believes that Emily is depressed and wants to help her. Emily says that Luis doesn't know anything about her. Luis elaborates, stating that he has worked for Miguel for a long time and the Galindo family is very important to him. Emily snaps at Luis and says that he is sad and pathetic as he has spent his whole life being Miguel's "errand boy". Luis seems hurt by her comment and she quickly apologises, Luis brushes it off and continues with the shooting lesson. With Luis' assistance, Emily is able to shoot the bottles.
Suddenly, Luis tells Emily that he knows she is planning to escape, and was trying to do so at the grocery store. Emily asks if Luis would let her, but he replies by saying that Miguel won't. Emily queries why Luis hasn't told Miguel this yet and Luis answers by stating that she didn't, so he doesn't need to, besides; it will never happen. Before he effortlessly blasts four bottles without missing a bullet.
Emily, Luis and Cristobal head to the park. A woman approaches Luis to apologise after knocking over his coffee, she innocently asks him which child is his, to which Luis comically replies that he is "just watching". This causes the woman to call out to her child and tells them to stay close. Emily giggles at this interaction and asks Luis if he really doesn't have any family or even a pet. Luis insists that the Galindo family keeps him plenty busy and he is perfectly happy with that. Suddenly, Maria begins to shout Cristobal's name, realising he has gone missing, Luis and Emily begin to search for him. Emily eventually returns with Cristobal a few moments later.
Later that night, Luis comes to Emily with a package, saying that it is addresses to Cristobal. Horrified, Emily quickly opens the box and finds a stuffed lamb inside, she immediately cuts it apart, pulling out the stuffing, clearly concerned there is some type of camera inside.
"To Fear of Death, I Eat the Stars"[]
Luis receives a frantic phone call from Emily. He arrives at the home of Charlotte Buksar and discovers that Emily has violently beaten her to death. Luis asks no questions however, he assists Emily in making the death look like a slip in the shower.
"I Must Go in Now for the Fog Is Rising"[]
Luis arrives at the Galindo household and Emily tells him she wants to thank him for dealing with Charlotte. Luis reiterates that the Galindo family means anything to him and it was no problem. Luis nonchalantly states that whenever Miguel has a problem, he has always made it go away. This causes Emily to look quite fearful.
Emily is having camera systems installed in the home, fearful of her recent actions might bring heat and the attempted kidnapping of Cristobal. She is snappy with the installation man and Luis warns the man to do exactly what she says.
"Slow to Bleed Fair Son"[]
Miguel, Emily and Luis arrive home. Emily realises that they have left Cristobal's stuffed toy in the car, if he awakens without it, he will not be happy. Miguel heads outside to the car. Emily asks Luis to carry Cristobal up to bed and he of course, agrees. Emily also asks him to leave his gun holster downstairs. Luis heads upstairs with Cristobal.
As Luis tucks Cristobal in, he hears two gunshots ring out from below. He sprints downstairs where he sees a horrified looking Emily and a dead Miguel. Emily clutches at Luis before whispering to him, "I know you killed my sister" before revealing his gun and executing him.
