Biography[]

Father Ashby is a calm and collected individual, respected by everyone in Ireland because of the fact that he is a priest. He also declined a position of power within the Vatican three times. He loved John Teller as a brother and sincerely wanted to make his wish come true: to protect his family from the life he had. Ashby also has great physical strength as he was able to throw the much younger Jax over a table.

Season 3[]

"Oiled"[]

Father Kellan Ashby is in his confessional booth as his cousin, Cameron Hayes enters admits to killing a man loosely involved with the death of his own son, hoping it would make him feel better in some way. Kellan tells him that his actions have threatened a decades-long relationship with the Sons of Anarchy, though Cameron believes he was justified. The priest promises to plead his case to Jimmy O' Phelan and the Army Council.

Jimmy receives a call from Father Kellan Ashby, Ashby tries to vouch for Cameron and Edmond after a deal went bad and Edmond was killed and Cameron fleed the US with Jax's young son after murdering a member of SAMCRO. Jimmy tells Ashby that Cameron cannot be forgiven and must be taken out.

When he returns to the church, Kellan blesses him before he is garroted by Michael Casey. His body is marked and dumped in the streets so that everyone knows Cameron Hayes came home.

"Caregiver"[]

Kellan explains to Maureen that Cameron has been killed, it was quick and for the best. He also explains that he is taking Abel away and making sure he is adopted by a "good Catholic family". Maureen explains that he has a family and Kellan implores her to forget about JT. Maureen reluctantly agrees to let Abel go.

"Home"[]

Jimmy is furious that Kellan has Cameron killed and then put out on display, Kellan explains that a message was needed after the betrayal of Edmond and Cameron. Jimmy states that he is going to return Jax's son to stop them coming to Ireland but Kellan says it is too soon.

Maureen visits Kellan and explains that Jimmy came to her house and threatened her for information on where Abel is. Kellan explains that he needs SAMCRO to come to Ireland for the cause, Jimmy is just a gangster and has started recruiting kids for the IRA cause, that is why he wants to end the partnership between the Sons and the IRA. Kellan suggests that Maureen call Gemma again and tell her where her grandson is.
