Biography[]
Banquero was the leader of the Lobos New Generation (LNG), (formerly Lobos Sonora Cartel). A fierce rival of the Galindo Cartel. LNG made swift and powerful moves during the Galindo Cartel's weakest moments and took over a lot of their territory under Banquero's lead and with assistance from the Mayans Motorcycle Club.
Banquero is shown to be merciless, psychopathic and quite mentally unhinged as he will stop at nothing to get his cartel where he wants it.
Banquero also seems to have a God complex, as demonstrated when he tells one of his employees that the truth is whatever he makes it. This is also shown when he is responsible for costing the LNG millions of dollars, but refuses to try and make it right the easy way as it would make him appear weak. Banquero is also seemingly never at fault. It is unknown if he genuinely believes he is incapable of making mistakes, or just chooses to ignore them; passing the blame to others.
Banquero seems to have a tad of empathy for his very sick mother, refusing to see her in her dying state and crying for days after she passes.
Season 3[]
"Dark, Deep-laid Plans"[]
El Banquero, some enforcers and his bodyguards, Sirena and Jameson, arrive at Juan Denver's site. Banquero asks Juan is he is in Galindo Cartel territory, Juan tells him he is, in a roundabout sort of way. Banquero blows Juan a kiss before his associates execute him. They then burn the Galindo cocaine Juan was handling and leave a warning message.
"A Mixed-up and Splendid Rescue"[]
We get a real taste of Banquero's relentless brutality as we watch him execute a policeman with a hacksaw. The police officer wanted to quit working for cartel and El Banquero told him that he respect his honesty and integrity, but cannot let him leave the cartel and talk other polices about it. He then sits down to talk with El Palo. El Palo offers Banquero a chance of revenge for the killing of his uncle at the hands of the Galindo Cartel. Banquero tells El Palo that his only regret is that he wasn't able to kill his uncle first as he used to molest him when he was younger. He also yells at his men for making too much noise while dismembering the cop he had just killed. He then insults El Palo telling him that he smells like a street dog but agrees that he will hear him out when El Palo says that he can get the LNG Galindo Cartel territory.
"The House of Death Floats By"[]
Canche, Presidente of the Mayans Motorcycle Club, Yuma charter visits the house of Banquero with El Palo. Canche and El Palo are working together to try and cut out the Galindo Cartel and the Mayans Santo Padre charter so that Yuma can be the drug pipeline. Banquero shushes Canche when he outstretches his hand to greet him, he is far more interested in his nature documentary on TV. Banquero spiels to the pair about ostriches and how they work with other species during mating season. Essentially saying that if they unite they can get rid of Galindo before returning to his documentary.
Season 4[]
"Self Portrait in Blue Bathroom"[]
Banquero is interrogating two of his employees. He reiterates to the pair that they will never fear being hungry as he gives them shelter and food and they repay him by sowing doubt in him about his employees. He accuses one of the men of being a thief. One of the men tells Banquero that the other is responsible for stealing his watch while the other man swears innocence, but Banquero is running late and is not interested in excuses, he draws his gun and shoots the apparent thief in the head. He then takes his watch from his back pocket and puts it back on. He tells the surviving man that honesty is an invaluable trait and the truth is whatever he says it is. He then tells Sirena to ensure the man gets a raise.
Banquero heads to the house of his mother and sister, Soledad. Banquero hears his sister caring for their unwell mother. He tells the guard outside the room that he will be in the study waiting for Soledad. Soledad scolds him for not wanting to see their mother while he still can. He affirms that he was busy, many of Galindo's men joined the LNG after the disbandment of the Galindo Cartel and he needs to make sure there are no traitors; referencing the employees we saw being interrogated earlier. Soledad also berates Banquero for only having one accountant who is in charge of all LNG financials, a man named Randall. Banquero wants to smuggle him from the US over to Mexico as he is currently wanted by the government. Banquero tells Soledad that the Mayans will be handling the transport of Randall to Mexico or they will pay dearly.
"A Crow Flew By"[]
The Mayans ended up botching the smuggling of Randall as it was revealed he was a paedophile and they killed him. The club is worried about the blowback this will have for their relationship with Banquero and the LNG.
Canche later visits Banquero to apologise for the Mayans screwing up. He tells Banquero that they will do whatever it takes to make it up to him. An enraged Banquero watches his cartoons in silence before shooting his TV as Canche continues to try and talk his way out of the situation. Banquero says nothing as Canche slowly leaves the building.
"Death of the Virgin"[]
The Mayans learn that as punishment for their mess up, Banquero has stopped supplying the club with heroin to sell, causing great financial strain.
Banquero is once again receiving a lecture from Soledad who seems to be much more level-headed than him. She doesn't blame the Mayans for what they did to Randall and that not supplying product to the club is only hurting the LNG. Banquero insists that what the Mayans did is a declaration of war and he will continue to not supply them with anything. Banquero also seems sad when Soledad mentions that their very sick mother will be dying soon.
"The Righteous Wrath of an Honorable Man"[]
Sirena attempts to speak to Banquero, his mother has passed but he is attempting to contain his sadness, he jumps in to his pool and sinks to the bottom before beginning to sob.
He finally speaks to Soledad, he insults her for her disabilities and soon gets aggressive, he tells her that she is no longer in charge as was their father's request, he is now in charge.
"When the Breakdown Hit at Midnight"[]
Banquero once again sobs in his pool over the death of his mother. He emerges from the water and asks the maid for a towel, she says nothing and he gets angry. She then speaks and says "Your sister has a message", she leans in to whisper in Banquero's ear "Say hello to mommy and daddy" before quickly slashing his throat. Banquero begins to flail around in the pool as he bleeds to death.

- Unnamed LNG employee - Shot in the head ("Self Portrait in Blue Bathroom")
Trivia[]
- In "Self Portrait in Blue Bathroom", it is revealed by Soledad, Banquero's sister that he is 40 years old; meaning that El Banquero would've been born around 1982.
- Banquero mentions that he was molested by his uncle when he was younger. Thus, it is surprising that he is angry with the Mayans when they kill Randall, who is a paedophile, saying it is "a declaration of war". It could be that Banquero was more annoyed with the fact that Randall's death cost the LNG a lot of money, more than he was annoyed that he was a paedophile. Regardless, it is still strange how he didn't seem to care at all to learn this about Randall.
- Banquero's actor, Guillermo Garcia is married to Luisa "Adelita" Espina's actress, Carla Baratta.
