Antonia Peña was the mayor of Santo Padre on Mayans MC, a spinoff of the FX original series Sons of Anarchy. Played by American actress Alexandra Barreto. Antonia makes her debut in the season one episode, "Bat/Zotz".

Biography[]

Antonia was previously married to Obispo "Bishop" Losa, her husband's involvement in an outlaw motorcycle club, the Mayans Motorcycle Club uprooted their life when his cousin and club founder, Marcus Alvarez offered him a chance to be the Presidente of his own charter in Santo Padre.

Antonia agreed to move to Santo Padre with Bishop and their young son, Aidan. It is always alluded to the fact that the family's move to Santo Padre caused the devastating death of Aidan, a reality Antonia could never properly get to grip with and she and Bishop eventually separated.

Still wanting to make the most of the move and eventually working her way up the political ladder, she became the mayor of the troubled Californian town. Antonia enjoyed a few successful years as the mayor before finally wanting to be rid of the negative past associated with Santo Padre, she resigned in 2021 and moved away with her wife Katrina to live in Scottsdale, Arizona. Antonia and Bishop parted ways on incredibly harsh terms with Bishop telling her that it should have been her that died instead of Aidan.

Season 1[]

"Bat/Zotz"[]

Antonia arrives at the scene of a desert murder, she meets with Obispo "Bishop Losa, her ex-husband and the Mayans Motorcycle Club. Bishop offers his assistance in helping stop traffickers ending up dead in the streets. Bishop is concerned as the mules and their oxy could lead the Drug Enforcement Agency (D.E.A) setting up shop in Santo Padre which will bring heat to the club. Antonia knows deep down that Bishop and his club are up to no good but due to their history, they live peacefully.

"Uch/Opossum"[]

Antonia has a meeting with Miguel Galindo, a power force and supposedly legitimate business man in Santo Padre. The vast majority of heavy hitters in the town know that he really heads the Galindo Cartel. During this meeting Miguel sets out some unreasonable demands or threatens to take his influence and money out of Santo Padre.

Antonia drives to the Mayans clubhouse. She tells Bishop of her meeting and he assures her that Miguel isn't thinking straight and he'll come round.

Season 2[]

"Xaman-Ek"[]

A furious Emily Galindo storms in to Antonia's office. She demands to know why she wasn't told about the additional bids for the agricultural park project and Antonia explains that the city is running on no money and the rules were changed to allow the Galindo's to make a bid, allowing even more to bid also. Emily lightly threatens Antonia as she explains that Miguel should be the only person she is answering to.

"Tohil"[]

Emily and Miguel are summoned to Antonia's office. She informs them that Marlon Buksar, a city hall clerk is dead and it seems to be suicide, he was heavily involved in the Santo Padre agricultural park project. Miguel questions why they are here and Antonia explains that before Marlon took his own life, he emailed her and confessed to have been taking bribes for insider information and giving ChinAgra. Emily quickly asks what this means for the project and Antonia explains that their bid will be removed and the Galindo bid will win. Antonia changes tone as she then directs her line of questioning to Miguel, suspecting foul play she asks him that what happened to Marlon never happens in Santo Padre again, Emily chimes in and gives her assurances before they depart.

"Hunahpu"[]

Antonia leads the agricultural park winners ceremony, unsurprisngly, the Galindo's won the bid. She listens to a speech full of empty promises by Emily before quickly taking some pictures with the couple. She then steps aside and looks solemn, knowing Santo Padre could be in trouble.

Season 3[]

"Pap Struggles with the Death Angel"[]

Antonia is berating Emily. Miguel has lost control of his businesses. Work on the Agra Park project has stalled and as a result people have lost their jobs. Antonia accuses the Galindo's of ruining the town's politics due to Miguel's criminal life. The border between the US and Mexico has been shut down and imports are difficult, resulting in no work being done. Emily calmly tells Antonia that it isn't anybody's fault. Antonia leaves after telling Emily she knows how she really won the bid and there is blood on her hands.

"Overreaching Don't Pay"[]

Late at night, Antonia spots a familiar shadowy figure lurking over the road outside her house perched on a motorbike, knowing it to be Bishop, she exits her house and crosses the street to speak with him, she tells him to come inside before someone calls the police on him.

"Our Gang's Dark Oath"[]

Antonia heads downstairs to see that Katrina is rowing with Bishop, the latter having slept on their sofa the previous night. She ushers the angry Katrina away. Antonia mentions that Izzy Alvarez, Marcus Alvarez's wife has expressed concern for Bishop as he has been "looking like shit". Bishop brings up Aidan. Antonia tells Bishop that she wants to move on from the past but Bishop says she is wrong for that and leaves.
