Alan O'Neill, born July 2, 1957 in Dublin, Ireland was an Irish-American actor who plays the role of Hugh on the FX original series Sons of Anarchy. Making his debut on the episode "The Mad King", in the series' sixth season, Alan plays the role of a member of the True IRA. Playing a recurring role through the series' sixth and seventh seasons, Alan was last seen in the series' finale episode, "Papa's Goods", in the series' seventh, and final, season. He was found dead on June 6th, 2018, and an autopsy completed on July 27th, 2018 revealed Alan died of alcohol overconsumption with head trauma incurred after a possible fall.
