Hey all,
The final episode of Mayans MC aired last night.
Regardless of your opinion of the show, it is truly the end of an era as we are likely to see any further content from the Sons of Anarchy universe. Sons of Anarchy started in 2008 and Mayans finished in 2023. That is 15 years and I know that some people were there from the very start until the very end. It is very bittersweet.
I hope everyone enjoyed this chaotic and unpredictable universe.
March is Women's History Month! This year's theme is embracing equity. Fandom is recognizing women, femme-identifying, and non-binary people and how they build the tables in industries where they often do not have a seat.
Read about Women's History Month in Fandom's blog post:
Embrace Equity with Fandom this Women’s History Month
Fandom Wikis are also taking a focus on women in relation to their wikis, including characters, storylines, cast, crew, and even wiki editors.
Are there any examples from your wiki of women embracing equity that you'd like to share or spotlight? Post in the comments!
Not sure what it means to embrace equity, or how it relates to Women's History Month? I recommend this excellent article on Equality versus Equity!

The MediaWiki 1.39 Upgrade is underway, with wikis being upgraded in batches. So far it's been mostly seamless, but if you note any upgrade issues with the wiki, please let me know!
Mobile CSS is now in testing on multiple wikis!
Fandom Compass is a new project to increase wiki visibility. Check the requirements and see if you'd like to sign up your wiki!
How's everything else going on the wiki? Any editing projects you're working on, any pages you're particularly proud of, any issues you'd like to address, any wishlist items you'd like to tackle?
February is Black History Month at Fandom! This is an opportunity to recognize black heritage and history, and celebrate black creators and characters in the media we love.
Are there any black creators, characters, or storylines that you particularly love or resonate with you? Let me know in the comments!
Check out what Fandom is doing for Black History Month in today's blog post.
Would you like to get involved? There are plenty of ways!
This is a great time to improve related pages on this wiki and others. Got any improvements in mind you'd like to do, or see happen? Any pages that you'd like to highlight on the wiki, or even see highlighted by Fandom? I'd love to know about it, so leave a comment!
We also encourage wikis to create a blog to commemorate the month and celebrate characters, creators, storylines, history, and more for BHM. If you do so on any of your wikis, please drop a link here or on JP's blog post above so we can highlight it!
Hello all,
I've recently submitted a request to the Wikia staff for myself to become an administrator of this community and possibly adopt it. I have applied for this due to the lack of activity from other administrators. (Most recent was June '22). I was requested to make a discussion about this by out forum representative to gauge feedback.
I understand that our community may be quite small but I'm hoping that traffic will be picking up again with the final season of Mayans MC set to air later this year. (HOPEFULLY SOON!)
Please feel free to discuss what you all think of this and if there are any obligations to my request for adoption. As a wise Son once said: "You can't sit in this chair without being a savage". (Please don't take that as a threat, I'd just like to clean up this community and hopefully make it thrive again!)
Thanks for taking the time to read.

'Tis the season of adding Santa hats to profile pics. Are you doing anything festive on any of your wikis?

November was Native American Heritage Month
See how Fandom celebrated the history and culture of Native Americans during Native American Heritage Month.
Does Native American Heritage Month have any special significance to you? Did you or any of your wikis do anything to recognize the accomplishments of Native American culture or representation in entertainment? Are there any related areas on your wikis that might be in need of improvement?
Admin Plus Update - The A+ Wiki
Expanding on the Admin+ Program that rolled out this summer, Fandom is introducing something new: the A+ Wiki.
Any wiki where all eligible admins have taken and passed the three Admin+ courses can apply for A+ Wiki status via the application on the Admin+ page. Applications will be reviewed and if accepted, a member of Fandom staff will reach out.
Read about it here:
Introducing Admin Plus (blog post from summer)
Recent releases recap - FanCentral, Mobile theming, Accessibility, and Discussions Abuse Filter
New feature FanCentral is open for beta testing. You can access FanCentral at fandom.com/fancentral/home.
Mobile theming is now available on wikis and can be modified by an admin through the regular theme designer. If you've gone in to make any theming changes lately, you might have noticed that there are now accessibility requirements; these ensure that your wiki themes have enough contrast for readability.
Discussions Abuse Filter was opened for testing in October, and it looks like it's working great! If you would like it enabled on one of your wikis, please reach out to your local Wiki Rep if you have one, or reach out through Special:Contact.
Upcoming
Fandom is working on several new features, here are the ones I'm personally excited about:

Hey again everyone! Here's another roundup of recent announcements and events from Fandom.
Interactive Maps are now available on all wikis! Are there any maps that the wiki could make interactive? Wiki admin (and members with a special role) can create new maps and edit existing ones in Special:AllMaps. Read all about it in this staff blog post: Interactive Maps are here!

As announced previously, wikis are still being upgraded to MediaWiki 1.37.
Trivia quizzes are still going up for logged-out visitors. If you'd like to create a quiz to add to the wiki, let me know!
The club navigates a tenuous new world order.
What are your thoughts on the episode? What did you think of it?
I don't know if anyone commented on this before but, on my eighth or so viewing of the series I noticed something. Near the beginning of the episode Clay, Gemma, and Jax are talking to Elliot and Karen Oswald and their daughter Tristen. Jax gives Tristen some ride tickets. Immediately after that they proceed to dunk a circus clown and push his head down under water.
It seems quite possible to me that this clown already had an eye on Tristen and saw her talking to and smiling at Jax. Jax and his buddies then came and assaulted him and pushed his head under water. It was right after this that Tristen was abducted and raped. Their violence may have been the key that triggered what happened to Tristen.

Hey everyone! As your Wiki Representative, I'm here to help keep you all up to date with what's going on around Fandom. So here's a roundup of recent announcements and events.
Quick overview:
Trivia Quizzes will be expanding and customized for wiki pages.
March is Women's History Month and we're celebrating representation in media.
MediaWiki 1.37 upgrades are are starting this month. Visually the wiki should be pretty much unchanged.
February was Black History Month, and we ended the month with a cool panel.
Fandom Stands with Ukraine and is making donations to humanitarian efforts.
Trivia Quizzes are expanding on Fandom!
Users who visit Fandom will start seeing trivia quizzes on our top wikis, and the quizzes will be directly relevant to the page topic. These will initially only be visible to logged-out users, so it won't impact your regular logged-in user experience just yet. The ultimate goal is that all logged-in users will be able to create a quiz through the new quiz creation tool, but for now they can be set up by Staff.
If anyone would like to help create a quiz for this wiki to appear on a particular page, talk to me! As a Wiki Representative, I can help implement customized quizzes.
It's Women's History Month!
We're celebrating the accomplishments of women and the representation of women in media. Fandom is committed to breaking the bias through our active efforts of inclusion, and we’re calling everyone in and inviting you to amplify and unify your voices as we break the bias together.
Fandom is also spotlighting creators, IPs, and women behind-the-scenes at Fandom that break the bias by forging a path that supports women's equality.
Who are your favorite female characters and creators? Tell Fandom on the blog post!
Fandom will be upgrading to MediaWiki 1.37.
We're currently on MediaWiki 1.33, and the upgrading begins this month. This should be a fairly easy update, especially when compared to the massive transition to the Unified Community Platform (UCP).
This is not a change to the site’s design, so the wiki will look the same. There may be minor visual tweaks here or there as extensions are updated, but otherwise the wiki should pretty much look just as it does now. The update may affect CSS customizations, and as your Wiki Rep, I'm here to assist with that as well.
In case you missed it, February was Black History Month, and Fandom rounded out the month with a fantastic panel about Black Voices & Content in Genre IP. Check it out on Twitch!
Fandom is a global community, and many of us are feeling this conflict personally. Fandom stands with Ukraine and we are donating to key humanitarian organizations.
